Testing mail to qgis-pt

Hello all.

The new mailing list has been created.

To be able to post you need to subscribe to this group:
https://discourse.osgeo.org/g/QGIS-pt

Note: if you are receiving this by email you are already subscribed.
I added recognizable users to the group and also assigned them the trust
level 4.

AlexNetoGeo: you are the owner of the list. Can you add the appropriate
co-owners please.

Hello @cvvergara ,

Thanks for your work. I see all old messages in here, which is already a great improvement.

I was wondering, can we change the tag to QGIS-pt-user? Just like QGIS-fr-user and QGIS-it-user? This way we have it standardized.

I though anyone in the OSGeo Discourse would be able to post messages in this mailing list, is the qgis-pt group mandatory, or was it to make it “private”?

Its not private, but trying to be like mailman where you need to subscribe to be able to post.
But, if you want “everyone” can reply but still not create.
You let me know.
btw, I closed up the mailman list and left a link to this list.
Closed the ticket also.

Alex,

We updated this doc that details how the categories work.
It lists the various options available like allow everyone registered on osgeo discourse to create topics and reply etc.

Let me know if you think it needs clarification.

Hello @cvvergara Sorry for the late reply. I confess I am not well into the discourse thing and I guess I am missing some messages.

I will discuss with other folks about the permissions we feel work the best for us.

I may open the mailinglist temporarily just to create a message in portuguese informing the migration. I think I have permissions for that. It will be a one time message and I will restrict messaging again.

Hi Alex.

Just made the following setup:

  • People can unsubscribe from the list
  • The discourse qgis-pt will mirror the mails from now on forward
    • (aka the mails sent between the list migration and now kinda are missing)
  • People will be able to answer in discourse but that answer will not be reflected on the mailing list (aka mailing list is not mirror of discourse)
    • I suggest that when they a new mail arrives to the mailing list, by making sure that the reply is to the mailing list, let them know that they would probably some answers on discourse.

Hope that works better while you transition to discourse.
Also changed the trac 3237 ticket title to Mirror.

I am in the process of testing the mirror.
But also

Please test:
Create a new mail and send it to the mailing list. (Maybe a message about enabling the list again but please migrate to discourse.)
or reply to the one I already sent. (which I don’t see yet on discourse, but working on it)
