Hoping someone can help? I am new to GeoServer but feel that my Council will benefit from this being installed. However I received the below from my IT team, please can someone advise?
I have been investigating the GeoServer software and have encountered an issue with downloading the latest release. While I am able to download version 2.28.4 (released in May), version 3.0.0 (released in June) is currently being flagged as an untrusted application, which is preventing the download.
Unfortunately all attempts to download version 3.0.0 from alternative sources have also been unsuccessful.
Although I could install version 2.28.4, this would expose us to potential security risks, as the latest release addresses a number of vulnerabilities and security gaps present in the earlier version. I have discussed this with our Cyber Security Analyst, and we have agreed that deploying the latest supported version is the most appropriate and secure approach.
Unfortunately, until the software publisher resolves the trust issue and the application is recognised as trusted by Microsoft, I am unable to install version 3.0.0 on your device.
