Title: Bringing GeoAI to QGIS: Deep Learning Workflows with the Open-Source GeoAI Plugin
Abstract:
Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming geospatial analysis, yet integrating AI into desktop GIS workflows remains a challenge for many users. This presentation introduces the QGIS GeoAI plugin, an open-source tool designed to bring state-of-the-art deep learning capabilities directly into QGIS. The plugin enables users to perform tasks such as image segmentation, object detection, and feature extraction on high-resolution geospatial imagery without leaving the QGIS environment. Through live demonstrations, this talk will showcase how the plugin leverages modern AI models and integrates seamlessly with popular data sources, including satellite and aerial imagery. Attendees will learn how to set up and run GeoAI workflows, explore real-world use cases, and understand how open-source tools can democratize access to advanced geospatial AI.
