I just received an extended GRASS presentation in OSGeo design from Scott Mitchell and am still looking for the right place to upload it. This presentation could be presented or run in an animated loop in the background while people are chatting. There are more like this but as I said - I am not happy with the way we currently do not manage them.

We also no longer have access to our "own" material:

http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Library <- links are broken
http://www.osgeo.org/library <- rather empty

Markus

I have all the material backed up -- I just need a few hours to get
everything moved onto the new server. I'm on the road right now, but
I'll try to get that done this weekend.

Did you guys see the update I made to the ticker? As the ticket says, I've created the content type so more entries can be easily added through the web interface.

I am in the process of copy the library files onto the server, so don't worry about that Michael. After that, I will unzip it and then tell everyone the pattern for accessing the files. Then new library entries can be made with a simple URL pointing to the document.

I just received an extended GRASS presentation in OSGeo design from Scott Mitchell and am still looking for the right place to upload it. This presentation could be presented or run in an animated loop in the background while people are chatting. There are more like this but as I said - I am not happy with the way we currently do not manage them.

The right place is now using this form:
http://www.osgeo.org/node/add/content_library
If there is an access problem, let me know. Any authenticated user can add new items and edit their own. Project managers can add/edit all entries.

I hope this helps,
Tyler

Files are all accessible at:
http://osgeo.org/files/viscom/library/<filename> - with filename as listed in wiki.

i.e. http://osgeo.org/files/viscom/library/holmes_2005d.pdf

If you are desperate to grab all the files directly, that is possible too, though I'm not sure we should put a public URL out for it (??).

This is not clear to me - the wiki doesn't list file names (extensions
missing).

I have now tried to guess them and updated
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/Library

Still many are broken. Since I cannot see the files (would be so
easy to just see the "raw" directory maybe) many guesses seem to
be still wrong.

i.e. http://osgeo.org/files/viscom/library/holmes_2005d.pdf

Why not? The idea is to *disseminate* material and the stuff is
published under reasonable licenses (see Wiki). Especially, most
files are released for "remix", means that we have to publish the
ODP/ODT/DOC/PPT files, too.

BTW: Trying
http://www.osgeo.org/node/add/content_library
it tells me "Access denied".

anyway, we are getting closer
