Hi Michael,
I like the layout of the 2nd one better, as it highlights the project itself first. On the first one, I find the horizontal bar to feel a little heavy and it seems like an unnatural disconnect to have the OSGeo header, then the line, then the project name. I think of having a pile of these and having the osgeo logo and header stuff on the top of each one will feel pretty redundant and heavy. Whereas, having it on the bottom is still redundant but is a bit more discreet about it.
One exception would be when we have a fact sheet about OSGeo itself But we can deal with that exception when it comes. I have done up several fact sheet and letter style pages this past week and am looking forward to throwing them into a template like this.

Enclose are two possible fact sheet styles. Choose one and we will create the two remaining fact sheets in a similar style.

Hi,
the look really good. The first one looks better to me - as you said.
Regards,

I don't have a real preference, leaning slightly towards the second one, but I haven't printed them out yet. However, I do think that it's important to include the project's logo when it has one (like GRASS).

Logos are good - which reminds me that we need to collect copies of project logos at some point as well. I only had one or two of them when I did up the brochures.
I also liked the 2nd layout because it has the project name (and logo) at the top, first, before OSGeo. In these cases where our intent is to promote the project (not just the foundation), then giving the project the top place is important to me.

Looking at them again, I'm almost persuaded.
I'm going to ask John now about putting the Grass logo on there.

OK, [chair makes executive decision] 2nd one it is.
Regarding adding project-specific logos, JohnC said: "no problem --
either next to the title or next to the photos. Pick a direction and we

If a logo is available, I'd say put it by the title.
