Dear GRASS community,
I’m honored and grateful for the PSC nomination! I have been a passionate user and advocate of GRASS for 15 years or so (how time flies!). I’ve written blog posts and tutorials since 2008, and created various addons for data import, analysis, and visualization tasks.
What first drew me to GRASS was its flexibility and analytical power, and that remains a key reason I rely on it today. Just as important, though, is the incredible, welcoming community that has made this journey so rewarding. And I believe it is the community that holds the key to a bright future of GRASS. If elected, one of my primary goals would be to increase community member engagement and facilitate collaboration between maintainers, contributors, and users.
A second related focus area would be the improvement of GRASS documentation. As both a user and a lecturer, I’ve seen firsthand how important good documentation, tutorials, courses and educational materials are for onboarding new users and keeping existing users engaged. One of the challenges I would thereby like to address is how to accommodate the diverse needs and preferences of different users, all while ensuring that the maintenance workload remains manageable.
