Hello pgRouting community,
I’m Prashsti Asthana, an undergraduate eager to explore open-source through real contributions. During a geospatial engineering course last semester, I came across OSGeo and became interested in learning more about its projects. I’ve been developing my C++ skills and would love to deepen my understanding by contributing to pgRouting. As I begin preparing for GSoC 2026, I’d really appreciate any advice on how new contributors usually get involved. Any advice on getting started would be very helpful.
Hello pgRouting community,
Hope you all are doing well
I am happy to share that I have completed all the prerequisite tasks for the GSoC application. I will now begin working on my proposal, making sure to follow the recommendations and guidelines mentioned in the pgRouting documentation.
Over the next few days, I also plan to start contributing to the pgRouting issues, working on small improvements and attempting to resolve minor bugs or reported problems so that I can become more familiar with the codebase and the overall development workflow.
Any guidance, suggestions, or feedback from the community would be greatly appreciated.
I came across your post about preparing for the pgRouting GSoC application. I’m also trying to start contributing to pgRouting and learning how the workflow works, but I’m still figuring out where to begin.
If you don’t mind sharing, how did you start exploring the project and finding your first issues to work on? Any tips or resources that helped you would really mean a lot.
